About the CSO Network

Chief Sustainability Officers will play a leading, critical role in the ongoing and upcoming green transformations that the UAE’s public and private sectors will experience. To nurture collaboration, maximize agility, and mobilize necessary resources that match the dynamic sustainability landscape in the UAE, leaders of sustainability must have a shared exclusive platform to achieve these objectives. That is where the idea of the Chief Sustainability Officer Network stemmed from.

The CSO Network is a unique UAE-based platform, enabling CSOs from multiple sectors to address and overcome challenges to sustainability in the UAE, discuss future trends and focal areas, explore pathways to engage with the wider community and develop joint initiatives to propel sustainability forward and materialize a green, diversified, and inclusive tomorrow.

The Network Members

The CSO Network is the first platform for CSOs leading sustainability initiatives in the UAE’s public and private sectors. In its first year, the Network was launched with 80 members.

Annual forum, in partnership with New York Stock Exchange (ICE) for the annual Global Sustainability Forum, featuring over 70 global and regional CSOs, and speakers from Boeing, Baker Hughes, and IBM.

CSO Roundtables
The CSO Network organizes regular, closed-door roundtable discussions designed exclusively for its members. These roundtables are intimate, invitation-only events aimed at fostering in-depth, candid conversations on pressing sustainability issues. The format encourages collaborative dialogue, allowing members to share insights, best practices, and challenges in a trusted environment. By focusing on a single topic per roundtable, participants can engage deeply, explore innovative solutions, and strengthen their professional networks.

Hosted by senior UAE leadership, including H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and COP28 President, and H.E. Ohood Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future. Topics included digital transformation, net-zero strategies, and ESG data management.

Annual Forum hosted in partnership with the ADNOC, EAD, and MOCCAE bringing together public and private sector leaders to drive biodiversity conservation. The most recent forum highlighted AI and emerging technologies as catalysts for reversing biodiversity loss and enhancing ecosystem resilience, aligning with the themes of UN Biodiversity COP16.

The Network Joint Initiatives

A key objective of the CSO Network is to develop joint ventures and initiatives and nurture partnerships between public and private sector entities to drive sustainability and catalyse corporate and national sustainability goals.

To foster dialogue and discourse pertaining to the current state and forecasted future trends in sustainability across the UAE, Network Members will be invited to participate in an array of events including Intersectoral Roundtables and Industry-focused Forums.
